Registration for the Rochester Neighborhood of the Arts site (www.rochesternota.com) is easy and quick. Only the fields with an "*" next to them are required. Here are some guidelines for making your registration easy:
1) Your name - this is the name that users will see on the website if you enter content on any page or module. Enter a first and last name.
2) Your username - this is the name you'll use to log into the site. Each username must be unique - so if someone already created a username that you like - you may see an error message when you sign up. If you do - change the name and try a different one. If you've already signed up and forgotten your password there's no need to sign up again. Go to the login screen and click "Forgot my password" to have your password mailed to you.
3) Your password - passwords must be at least 7 characters long and cannot contain spaces. You must enter your password twice.
4) Your email address - the system is using an "email confirmation system". When you enter registration you'll get an email with an "authentication code". The first time you log into the system you'll need to enter the authentication code you received into the login field. After that time you will not need the authentication code again. If you fail to get the email - check your spam bin. If you have any problems authenticating contact us through the customer feedback form and we'll help you with getting authenticated. NOTA will only use your email in conjunction with the function of the site - sending you notices if you sign up for notices on events, content or other information relevant to NOTA. We will keep your email private - it won't be resold to other organizations or provided to mailing lists.
5) Time zone - if you enter your time zone any times of events posted on the site will be translated to the correct time for your area.
These are the only required entries. All other entries are optional. If you don't fill in the entry completely for the required elements - your registration won't be processed. The reason usually is that your password is too short - try lengthening the password.
Note that when you login with your name, password and authentication code you can click a box to save your login information on the computer and you won't have to login again.
